Giving Societies
Columbia Union College exists to educate. We want that education to be accessible, so we set tuition rates to maintain that accessibility. But these low rates leave a revenue gap. At Columbia Union College private sources like churches, corporations, foundations, and individuals help fill in this gap. We call this group The Giving Community at Columbia Union College and we invite you to join the effort. Your gift will make a difference right now in the life of a student and help build a legacy for generations to come. As you consider your membership in the Giving Community please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have regarding the various societies or the benefits of being a member. Join your fellow classmates, parents, and friends of Columbia Union College. Join The Giving Community and change a student's life forever. The Giving Community at Columbia Union College Pioneer Society In the 1970s, under the presidency of Bill Loveless, Columbia Union College officially adopted the Pioneers as its mascot. The decade was an era of space exploration and a new kind of pioneer was born. Today, as in the 70s, Columbia Union College embodies that pioneering spirit as it trains students to reach beyond what they have known and explore their world. The Pioneer Society is designed to acknowledge those who also believe in Columbia Union College's pioneering spirit and wish to make a tangible difference in the lives of students. By joining the Pioneer Society, you enable Columbia Union College to continue training young people to explore and impact the world around them. Membership to the Pioneers Society begins with a gift of $100. You can set the course for tomorrow's pioneers. Gateway Society Gateway to Service. You've no doubt heard us say it and seen the arch on campus. It was not a coincidence that the gateway has a central location on the commons. "Gateway to Service" is not just an expression at Columbia Union College. It is a way of life, built into the curriculum and the classroom - foundational to the core of the dreams that shape the institution. The Gateway Society recognizes the importance of service and creates an opportunity for alumni, parents and friends to give to Columbia Union College in a significant way. Membership to the Gateway Society begins with a donation of $250. You can open a gateway for a deserving student today. H.M.S. Richards Society H.M.S. Richards, Sr., Class of 1919, embodies the vision Columbia Union College has for its students. Richards dedicated his life to the service of God and others. He not only felt a passion for the ministry but a desire to spread the gospel in a new way - over the airwaves. Since 1919, while the tools used in the classroom may have changed, not much has changed in Columbia Union College's philosophy and approach to education. Columbia Union College educates a very different generation of young people those in 1919, but the message graduates take with them is still the same. We are still focused on training young people dedicated to the service of God and others, like Richards, through a multitude of traditional and new media. The H.M.S. Richards Society members also share this goal. Membership to the Society begins with a gift of $500. You can secure the future for Columbia Union College today. James Lawhead Society James Lawhead, Columbia Union College's first president, served from 1904-1907 and was a key player in creating the vision that became Columbia Union College; a vision that 100 years later still remains relevant. The Lawhead Society provides an opportunity for Columbia Union College's most loyal supporters to give back in a significant way. Benefits of membership include a commemorative welcome gift, recognition in our Annual Report, and invitation to meet key faculty at a private reception. Membership begins with a gift of $1000.
