Department Mission and Goals:
The Columbia Union College Marketing and Communications Office helps the college achieve its mission by providing strategic counsel, technical and creative services, and public relations to increase enrollment, external support, and awareness of the college’s mission, goals, and achievements. We endeavor to create the right communication tool— whether an advertisement, brochure, flyer, web content, video, or press release — so that departments can effectively reach their audiences. We manage all aspects of advertising, public relations, promotions, news and information, the college's website, www.cuc.edu, (for help with my.cuc.edu or our.cuc.edu, please contact Information and Technology Services); and coordinate publicity, graphics and publications, crisis management, and community relations for the college.
General Policies and Procedures
-New projects are initiated by two things; the completion of a Job Jacket (work request), and by setting an appointment with the appropriate MarCom staffer to discuss the scope of a project.
-Drop-in visits to start a project with MarCom staffers interrupt work being done on your and your colleagues’ other projects.
-MarCom is not a quick-print store like Kinkos. Please use the CUC Bookstore’s copier/printer or take your project, pending MarCom’s approval, off campus for production.
-Do not expect a 24-hour turnaround for any project.
-MarCom director is final authority on project priority and workflow.
-Lack of planning on the client’s part does not constitute an emergency for MarCom.
