CUC at a Glance

What is Columbia Union College?
Columbia Union College is a private four-year liberal arts college located in a suburban setting inside the beltway near the nation’s capital. We are also a Christian college, affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

What makes Columbia Union College distinctive?
Our students tell us that one of the major reasons they keep choosing CUC is the distinctive quality of the educational experience they find here, featuring caring professors who actually teach their classes (instead of having graduate assistants do it) and who will take time to sit down and talk, not just about academic subjects, but also about the student’s dreams and aspirations. Another primary distinction is our location near the nation’s capital, which translates into a unique quality of education and a remarkably exciting lifestyle, with so much to see and do and such vast cultural opportunities.

Is Columbia Union College the best school for me?
Yes, if you:

  • Are looking for challenging academics.

  • Are interested in opportunities for intellectual and spiritual growth.
  • Want to participate in exciting extra-curricular activities, like our internationally-known musical touring groups, our NCAA athletic teams, our exciting pre-law mock-trial team or our award-winning SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) team.
  • You’re looking for a diverse cultural experience, with a student population that looks like the face of America.
  • You want to go to school at a place where all the fun and cultural opportunities of the nation’s capital are at your doorstep.
  • You would like to sit in small classes and be part of a Christian community.

    Is Columbia Union College Affordable?
As one of the lowest-priced private colleges in the region, CUC offers students excellent value. Our financial aid processes are fair and balanced, and assure you a financial aid package that will make your college experience affordable.
